Larry Clarke joined Essilor of America In January 2019 as President of Distributor Channels. Prior to Joining the US Essilor team, he spent 19 years heading up various Divisions of the Satisloh Equipment Group, the leading Optical Equipment supplier which was acquired in 2008 by Essilor International. In 2014, Larry relocated to Zug Switzerland where he spent the last 4 years as Global President of the Equipment group. In his new EOA role he leads the IDD, IIG, and Nassau-OOGP Distributor Divisions along with a portfolio of technology and Lab entities. Larry grew up in Traverse City MI and received his Undergraduate degree from the University of MI, and then attended the Executive MBA Program at Denver University before joining the Sport Optics industry in 1987. “My passion is centered on improving optical performance and value using technology innovation. Doing so in close partnership with Independent Distributors is very rewarding, and a great way to build Brands and Product awareness.”
Amanda House is an experienced and passionate sales professional who joined the Essilor family in June 2018. She has worked in the optical industry for 17 years and held various positions that range from an optician to celebrity eyewear stylist. Amanda graduated with degrees in Communication Studies and Art History from the University of Iowa and obtained her ABO in 2008. Since joining Essilor, Amanda has solely dedicated herself to supporting IDD and the independent ECP; driving partnership and support for her customers. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys yoga, golf, baking and the beach and resides in Southern California. She is a jack of all trades and her personal motto is "with a little time… and a YouTube tutorial, I can do anything!
Shon has been with Essilor since 2009 and in optical business since 1991. Shon was an IDD customer for nearly 9 years as the Sales and Marketing Director of a large independent optical lab in Southern California. He has a passion for the independent lab business with a real drive for growing business. Shon has a wife of 24 years and a teenage daughter who competes in equestrian riding. During his free time he enjoys golf and bicycle riding.
Mitch is a Florida Board Certificated Optician as well as an approved ABO Technical speaker (what this means is that he is one of the smarter folks on the IDD Team). When Mitch is not standing in line at the airport, he can be found working with his sales team and their customers or working in the Essilor office in Dallas, TX. When Mitch is home, he enjoys playing golf with his wife Nancy, exploring new restaurants with friends and spending quality time with Winnie & Prince, their fur-babies/dachshunds.
Chris joined Essilor in 2013 after graduating with his M.B.A from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. After spending 3.5 years in the Essilor Marketing Organization supporting the IDD Marketing and Product Marketing teams, Chris transitioned to sales as an Inside Sale Rep for the IDD team. Chris is now a Wholesale Manager, supporting IDD labs in the Central and Southeast regions. In addition to his Wholesale Manager responsibilities, Chris also manages the Essilor IDD EyeSell training app. When he is not working, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids, traveling, and playing golf. He has also been known to have a little bit of a sweet tooth.
Jennifer's career has always been in the optical industry. She started with Transitions Optical as one of the first sales reps. During her 15-year tenure, she managed laboratories, regional and national retail, buying groups and Essilor of America and was recognized with numerous sales and leadership awards. She gained vast knowledge in logistics, finance, product technology, public speaking and marketing. She joined the Essilor team 4 years ago and brings specific product expertise to help support all IDD labs and buying groups. Jennifer is blessed with an incredible family including her husband of 14 years and three children, Austin, Dylan and Madeleine. She enjoys an active lifestyle of tennis, running, golf and loves to travel to beach and mountain getaways.
I am returning to my roots! I literally grew up in the independent lab division of Essilor! My grandfather founded Williams Optical in Nashville. I worked there throughout school....receiving a BA from Vanderbilt before joining Varilux (later merged into Essilor). I have spent the last 31 years as a Brand representative. Some awards: Rookie of the year, President's Club winner and National sales consultant of the year in all our Brands. ABOC and certified technical speaker. I enjoy time with friends and family, gardening and gaming.
I'm approaching my 26th year with Essilor. After coming to Essilor in 1990 from the wine industry I found a home in the optical industry. I have enjoyed working with some great people and some great customers, many if which I consider friends today. I have enjoyed the challenge of helping my customers realize their potential while navigating a dynamic and ever changing industry. Experiencing new and exciting technology that was unheard of just a few years ago thanks to the most innovative company in the optical industry of which I am very proud to be a part. I recently married my best friend Denise with whom together we bring 5 children from age 13-28. We also share our lives with a Chihuahua named Sara who constantly entertains us guarding the back yard from ever threatening snakes and lizards. We also feed the humming birds.
Nick graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a business degree. He joined Essilor in 2010 and started out in inside sales calling on smaller independent labs. From there, Nick transitioned to a new role in outside sales as a wholesale manager for the national accounts for four years. Currently, Nick is the Director of the Central Region. His hobbies include competing in multiple fitness events and mid-distance running events.
Randy is a Dallas, TX native and graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University. His optical career began at Essilor in 2012 working as an inside sales consultant. He then worked with IDD’s Technical Transfer team for 5 years as a Program Manager, working with independent labs to implement and install Varilux and Crizal lens design and coating technologies. Recently, Randy has taken on a new role as IDD Wholesale Manager for the Central Region. He is also an ABO Certified Technical Speaker. On the weekends, he can often be found on the soccer field with his wife and kids, unless he's somehow been able to sneak out to the golf course or the gym. Randy's interest include travel, movies, music, and the Dallas Cowboys.
Ashlee Queathem is originally from Newport Beach, CA. She attended Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, TX and graduated in three and a half years with a B.B.A. in Marketing and a minor in Spanish. Ashlee interned at Essilor of America for the marketing department before graduating SMU. She joined the IDD team in January 2017 as a Marketing Representative and was promoted to an Associate Marketing Manager in 2018 before moving into her current sales role, Inside Sales Wholesale Manager, in 2019. Ashlee speaks fluent French and Spanish; she loves connecting with others by speaking their native languages. Her other hobbies include working out outside, cooking with family and friends, and finding the best food in every city she travels to. Her favorite aspects about working for Essilor are the company culture, specifically the IDD Team, and our mission, "Improving Lives, by Improving Sight.”
Mack graduated from Texas Tech University with a Business Management degree and moved to Dallas to join the Essilor IDD team in 2015. With a background in construction, these past couple of years in the optical industry remain very new and exciting! He is still eager to learn about the industry and grow within each presented opportunity. Notoriously known around the office for dog sitting, Mack spends most of his weekends outside on a patio or on brewery tours with his furry friend of the week.
Sehrish joined Essilor in July 2019 after graduating from the University of Texas at Dallas with an M.B.A. and a Masters in Marketing. She was fortunate enough to intern at Essilor the summer of 2018 in the channel marketing team. Her project focused on a charity driven promotion that partnered with the Essilor Vision Foundation. Sehrish is new to the optical industry but is very excited to learn more and improve lives by improving sight. She has lived in Dallas most of her life but has also lived in California and Karachi, Pakistan. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, eating new foods, traveling, and reading.
Sunny is a well-rounded marketing leader with proven success building brands, driving channel growth, leading marketing technology deployment, creating innovative solutions and cultivating customer loyalty. Currently she is the Associate Director of Marketing at Essilor of America and leads IDD marketing. She earned an MBA from TCU and completed an executive development program at University of Texas in Austin. Sunny is fluent in Chinese and lives in Colleyville with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she enjoys running and shares this passion with her local running club.
Sarah never knew she’d end up in the optical industry. She graduated from Keene State College in 2014 with a degree in Elementary Education and English. After teaching third grade briefly, she found herself in sales. Shortly after that, she found herself at ESSILOR. Sarah spent three and a half years on the Brand Team and won Presidents Club in 2019. She has found a love for training others on Essilor's core products and mission and is excited to be doing it on the IDD side now. Sarah is engaged to be married and looking forward to one day starting a family (to add to all her fur babies: 2 dogs, a mainecoon cat, and 3 silkie chickens)! When she’s not working she enjoys reading, trying new recipes, and spending time with friends and family.
Aaron’s career with Essilor started in 2015 as a Brand Consultant after graduating from Ball State University in Indiana. He has since had the pleasure of winning Presidents Club two times in his relatively short tenure with the company. Aaron is very passionate about Essilor’s Premium Brands and looks forward to the new opportunity to provide dedicated and focused support for our IDD Partners in the field. Currently Aaron lives in Tampa, FL and enjoys spending his free time soaking up the beautiful Florida sun and traveling overseas whenever possible.
I joined Essilor in 1994 when I was told that I could move back to Florida, where I grew up (four years in upstate New York was enough for this Florida boy). I had already worked for seven years in a wholesale lab, and for seven more in sales for Semi-Tech/DAC (I had the Northwest Territory for three years, and the Northeast for four). Now I was to become a "Technical Support Manager" with Essilor. I became part of an amazing team whose sole purpose was to help our customers to be better and more prosperous, which in turn made Essilor better. I like to think that we helped a great number of labs, but the best part is that we became friends with so many of the great people in our industry. In 2011, our team was inducted into The Vision Council Lab Division's Hall of Fame, with the Director's Choice Award, for our service to the optical industry... a great honor for us. But we didn't let that go to our heads (well, maybe a little), as we kept helping our labs where and whenever they needed us. Last year, I was again honored by The Vision Council Lab Division by being inducted, this time as an individual honoree. I look forward to several more years with Essilor and this "most excellent" team in Technical Support.
